Assessment of Psychiatric Issues in Post-concussion Syndrome

The term "Post-Concussion Syndrome" (PCS) refers to a group of non-specific symptoms that occur after concussion or Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI) and last longer than expected. Headaches, weariness, vertigo/dizziness, irritability, emotional lability cognitive problems, sleep disturbance, anxiety, depression are all possible symptoms. According Silverberg Iverson, both neurobiological psychosocial factors influence during the early phases recovery [1].
